Total Productive Maintenance Workshop

During the period of November 25–27, 2025, ALFRA Consulting organized an intensive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) workshop at Celestica Oradea. This hands-on program combined theoretical expertise with direct practice on real production equipment. The event brought together maintenance and production professionals interested in developing skills that could be immediately applied within their own organizations.

Participants worked both individually and in teams, guided through the application of the fundamental TPM pillars, the development of a lean maintenance mindset, and the interpretation of critical performance indicators such as OEE, OA, MTBF, and MTTR. Throughout the workshop, they carried out practical activities such as:

• evaluating equipment using the 5 Senses method;

• initiating the steps of Autonomous Maintenance;

• loss analysis and defect prevention activities;

• implementing visual preventive maintenance elements;

• working directly on production lines to identify abnormalities, standardize processes, and drive continuous improvement.

The program was delivered by senior trainers with extensive industrial experience, and the sessions included case studies, interactive presentations, and practical discussions based on Celestica’s production equipment.

Training Impact

Participant feedback reflected the practical value of the program, with workshop activities being highly appreciated for their clarity, relevance, and immediate applicability.

Among the aspects considered most valuable were:

• TPM methods and real industry examples;

• Autonomous Maintenance and its practical application;

• shopfloor exercises and hands-on activities;

• open discussions about maintenance practices;

• concepts such as 5 Why, FMEA, failure analysis, and the principle of “don’t blame, don’t judge”.

All participants stated that they would recommend this training program to other professionals, emphasizing the value of the knowledge gained and their intention to immediately implement the tools learned within their organizations.

Program Outcomes

As a result of the workshop, participants identified numerous opportunities for internal implementation, including the reintroduction of Autonomous Maintenance, the review of skills matrices, improved cross-functional communication, the application of prevention methods, and the initiation of Kaizen projects focused on loss reduction.

The workshop also included a learning-through-playing session using a Kahoot quiz, which reinforced the concepts discussed in a dynamic and collaborative way.

This TPM workshop represents another step in strengthening the Lean community that ALFRA Consulting supports through practical, results-oriented programs tailored to the realities of the shopfloor.
